anyone used universal style of air filter ,to make space ??

anyone used this type of filter?

to try and get rid of the dustbin sized filter box on bongos.?

would it work ok?

Yeah it will work ok but do you know how much noise will be increased due to the induction level not being suppressed by theDUSTBIN

The other important thing is that you get practically no air flow if you just fitted it directly in place of the current air filter box. If you could use all the existing ducting from the front of the van and then fit an inline filter, then you may be ok. As a diesel has no throttle to adjust the air flow into the engine it needs to be able to breathe very well which is partly why the standard filter element is so big with a large surface area.
