blinking lights
What are the sediment light and and hold light blinking telling me? It's like a disco in my van lol
Re: blinking lights
That the alternator isn't working ...... sorry more bad news.
Check the belts and if possible measure the voltage on the battery whilst the engine is running at normal driving RPM (not idle), it should measure about 14.4-14.6 Volts,
at idle it will be lower around 13-13.6 volts if all is well, if its less than this then the alternator is suspect.

Thank you, I'll pop that no my list. I did check the belts and they look like they have seen better days. I think I will break this to my husband over a steak dinner... It's hard to scream with food in your mouth.

Re: blinking lights
Don't crack open the champers yet, flashing hold light is telling there is potentially a gearbox fault
. Lots of info on the forum, but here's one to get you started that contains a link to a facthsheet:

Re: blinking lights
I would agree with Geoff... Rev to about 2000rpm?? I'll stick my neck out & say put a few things on like the lights and blower on full too...??! Let the van warm up a bit before revving it though..g8dhe wrote:That the alternator isn't working ...... sorry more bad news.

If it is a duff alternator? Its relatively quick to replace.. You may as well replace the belts... Get the AC compressor belt done while yer at it!

Steak dinner...? Lucky man...!
Cheaper by comparison to a race horse...

Re: blinking lights
Congratulations
You have put a lot of work into that van, so now enjoy it. With that lovely conversion you should be all set to get very soggy and or cold up at Stonehenge
Every year I think of going and every year at 5am I just cannot face it. Its cold enough up there in June let alone December.
