MR2 wheels may not have a load rating sufficient to be fitted to a Bongo??

No - the centre bore is too small - see http://www.alloywheelsinternational.com/TOYOTA.html

I have some OZ MR2 wheels on mine. When I got them I realised the centre bore was too small but on closer inspection I found they had been fitted with spigot rings that were too small. After knocking those out I bought some correct ones from ebay and bob's your uncle.

The only spigot rings I have seen are to reduce the diameter of the bore (hole in the wheel) .. be interesting to see how they are used to make the hole bigger so the wheel locates onto the hub ( spigot mounted) and not the 5 studs (stud mounted) ...

I have a nice refurbished set of five Toyota Lexus rims with a 60.1mm centre bore that will not fit onto the 'spigot lip' on the Bongos hubs ..

It sounds like the rings were stuck to the wheels rather than the hub, so just needed to be removed to open up the hole to the full size.

If removing the spigot rings opened the bore to more than 60.1, they probably weren't genuine MR2 wheels :?

I didn't think about that before posting, only that the guy I got them off said they came off his MR2. Sorry peeps

The spigot rings that were in there were made of aluminium. I didn't even realise they were in there. I had the wheels blasted and coated the colour they are now THEN realised they didn't fit. I was just about to smash everything to bits with a hammer in frustration when a mate took the hammer off me and knocked one of the rings out. The holes were then too big and I had to buy the new spigot rings to make them centre on the Bongo correctly

Most after market rims are made to fit multiple vehicles .. that is why they are made with a over size bore so that spigot rings will 'down size' the bore to the correct size for a wider range of vehicles ..
