Swapping Seats Around

Post by Scotty » Tue Jul 25, 2006 12:35 pm

My middle bench seats are currently reversed so that they face backwards - Does anyone know where I can find instructions on how to return them to their initial position ie. facing forwards again.

Or does anyone have a pictures of what I need to change to relocate them.

If you are lucky it is simply a matter of undoing the four bolts - two either side of each runner - then knackering your back turning them around and refitting them forward-facing. They are heavy.

If you are unlucky, then the seat rails in the floor will also have been reversed. A totally different kettle of fish to remove and refit.

There has been much discussion on this here on the forum so I would recommend that you use the elusive search facility.

It's easy to tell if the sliders will need to be reversed. Does the bench seat in the reversed position slide on the runners? If the answer is yes then the runners will have to be removed and reversed. About an hours work.

Count your fingers before you start!

Have plaster ready.

only jokeing hard but rewarding exercise, great sence of satisfaction once achieved.

My only thought, the van feels more like an MPV or mini bus with all the seat facing forward, feels more like a sociable camper with the seats revered. :D
