New 17 inch rims

Post by Ian65 » Sun Sep 30, 2012 1:05 pm

Hi All

This has probably been asked before but I've done a search and nothings clear.

I've just acquired a set of 17 inch Mazda alloys for the van with knackered 40 series tyres.
Going to get the refurbed and fit new rubber, but what size should I go for?

At the moment there's 195/80/15 on the front and 215/70/15 on the rear.

Can't make my mind up whether to go for 205/60/17 or 215/60/17 or do I need to put different sizes on front and back.

205/60/17 would make a 4mm smaller rolling radius on the back but 15mm smaller on the front.

205/65/17 would make 16mm bigger on the back and 5mm bigger on the front.

215/60/17 would make 8mm bigger on the back and 3mm smaller on the front.

215/65/17 would make 29mm bigger on the back and 18mm bigger on front.

Any help much appreciated as to what other bongo owners use
