Poor Headlights.....................upgrade??

Post by Bongo?? » Mon Sep 10, 2012 1:21 pm

Hi all.
Now the darker nights are quickly approaching us and travelling for 1 and a half hours through the Lake District last night,i have came to realise that the standard Bongo headlights are very poor.
This is going to be my first winter in the Bongo,so can anyone reccomend a decent bulb upgrade??
Would some LED bulbs be a worthwhile investment??
Also they are H4 are`nt they??
Thanks all......

Hi Bongo??,

Its always a good idea to check the reflectors,if they are tarnished (blackened)they will need to be replaced to give you decent lights.

Cheers.

Hi
Osram do the nightbreakers...I haven't tried them in the dark, but I don't have standard lights. I had Osrams in the old headlights, and they were fine...no problems with night vision
Cheers

In the beginning there was nothing , then God said "Let there be Light".....There was still nothing , but ,by crikey, you could see it better.

mines a 2000 2.0 liter petrol but in the owners hand book it says 60/55w halogen and because it doesn't state all the engine sizes I would imagine, its for all vans

if they are standard halogen bulbs just count the wires/connections to the bulb, 3 wires are h7, 2wires are h4.

Hi,

You will find that H4 bulbs are 3 pin and H7 are 2 pin.(3 wire connector and 2 wire connector)

Cheers.

Osram's are good, made by Tesla who supply Lidl with their "Ultimate Speed" +20% and Aldi have the same spec called XS "Xenon Ultra" (which Auto Bild rated better than Philips & Osrams) made by Trifa in Germany. Lidl/Aldi are £4.99 a pair.... get 'em when they are in offer.... I only have 2 pairs left, till they are offered again...
