I've finally found why I am having to top up my coolant every few weeks. There is a very small leak in a new radiator, which I hoped might be easy to fix.
As I look into the front under the bonnet, there are 2 brackets that help secure the radiator to the chassis, one on each end of the radiator. The brackets have a hole in them that a tab at the top of the radiator, at each end, passes though. The leak is in this area, on the left hand side. But, I removed the air duct and left hand bracket, but I cant see any obvious place that the leak would be coming from, certainly nothing that could be tightened up. I guess I'm lucky that this is happening at the top of the system and the coolant loss is minimal and only when the system is up to temperature.
Excusing my mechanical ignorance, but does anyone have an idea what this might be, or if I am probably looking at a new radiator, hopefully under warranty. If I have to pay, at least it isnt another cracked cylinder head!
cheers

new rad im afraid, and a new gen mazda stat, i have a theory that the stat is allowing things to get to hot, this lets the internal pressure rise.
the normal pressure for a healthy bongo is about 10-11 pounds when warmed up, yours maybe running higher, but still under the 1.1 bar needed to pop the expansion tank cap.
