Diesel smell after aircon

After aircon has been on for a bit and we park up there is a smell of diesel. A friend said we should run the aircon more often and for longer to clear it - is that the reason or should we check something else?

Aircon should be used weekly to stop the seals drying out and the gas leaking. It will also stop the pongs you get with a rarely used aircon, but I've never heard of it smelling of diesel

Have a wee look around and under the injector pump when the engine is running for a start,if you smell (unburnt)diesel you have a leak.
