2wd to 4wd is it possible

Hi all. i am a total newbie so please be gentle.
I have just got a 2wd bongo, and was wondering if it is possible, and more relevant PRACTICAL to convert it to 4wd using doner parts from a 4wd, just an idea as i would like to use all year round, and the roads get a wee bit slippy in winter up here in scotland.

any things possible. its fairly straight forward on a bongo.
you would need.
auto box with transfer case. shorter rear prop. front prop/centre bearing, and diff/shafts. and the front swivels.

take a look on the russian web site and look at the original build spec of your bongo, it may already have a rear limited slip diff. if it has your already very able without any mods, as the 2 wheel d plus lsd is good on its own.
if its a standard diff, an lsd may be a cheaper option to fit.

I would suggest that firstly you get some Winter tyres, I had some fitted (I didn't initially know that they were winter tyres, my trusted tyre fitter said they were good all round tyres), just before the big snowfall we got in Central Scotland a couple of winters back.

I drove through all the snow and ice, with the 4wd cutting in only once, so I would say that these made a huge difference, much more than 4wd on it's own would have done. (Even towing a couple of cars out of snowdrifts)

As an example, I drove straight up a 1 in 3 driveway covered in ice, then drove up and down a few times to work the grit I had spread into the ice, so I could get my ex's Megane off the road.

It took me 8 attempts, on a now de-iced driveway, culminating in a charge from my neighbours driveway, to get up the driveway with the Megane.

Winter tyres are cool.....
