Drivers window switch - How much?

Post by Leah&John » Thu Jun 28, 2012 7:09 pm

Ouch - Club wants £180 for the drivers side window switch - it's described as Genuine Mazda - where can I find non genuine? Are there any other options ?

Best option is to make sure it's the switch you need, most such issues are caused by the wiring between body & door

I have to agree with the Muz from above....

But if it is the switch? I paid about at the time a tenner for mine off a similar year Mazda & just changed the cosmetic plate on the top...

Oh.. And modded the wiring too... http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... dow+switch

Wiring has never given me a problem, despite the colossal number of times the door has been opened and shut over fifteen years.

With mine it's definitely the switch. Specifically the 'axle' of the plastic part of the switch, not the electrics.

That makes the price even more galling!

My problem was actually the wiring in the door loom to the body.... The windows were intermittent & the switch buzzed. A symptom of a fractured earth wire in the loom... I fixed the loom.. However, i also found the drivers window switch had been butchered by the previous Jap owner in an attempt to remedy the fault...
