Went to start up engine and it just made a whirring noise. I am assuming
its the contacts. Any advice welcome.

While I think it is always a good idea to replace the contacts if the vehicle has seen a lot of service, in this case I agree, it sounds like the motor is not transferring the drive to the flywheel for some reason. Either way, without actually hearing it it is hard to say, but I think you need to remove and examine the starter motor.matilda wrote:Is it poss to clean up ceased up contacts on the startermotor
