Pressing the accelerator gives off an audible hissing sound. I am assuming it is air, but wonder where to look. It is not the usual whistling that the number 1 stud gives off. Could it be the turbo?
1999 2.5TD. No noticeable effect on performance and not a new problem, just one I'd like to look into.

Hi
Possibly the clamp that holds the turbo on ...sorry, I can't find out the link to the topic, as our 'net is slow / sketchy, but it was posted by Kirsty.
Cheers

You would notice if any turbo pipe came loose, i'm sure...

Worth looking at this old thread though.... (I know you think its not the stud.) http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... it=hissing

Hi Jay
Kirsty's turbo clamp broke, but the turbo was still on...still enough tension to hold it in place

vac pipes maybe, under the drivers seat. vac pump at front low down, then pipes are full length of head to the rear.
or pipe that comes from front of engine to the fuel pump top.
or rear of head vac pipe to air pipe near air filter housing, the green one way valve may have snapped off.
or check all the air inlet pipe from behind the drivers side headlight, to the airfilter, round the back of the head to the turbo, then forward to the aftercooler, then back to the air inlet manifold.
