Replacing Front Windscreen Wiper Motor
Is this an easy job? Had a quick look under the bonnet today - between rain showers - and it didn't look that easy

Re: Replacing Front Windscreen Wiper Motor
Its not a bad job, you need to remove wipers (12mm) plastic panelling (philips), retaining nuts (3x10mm,usually rusty n orrid, careful not to drop the retaining bolt/stud things), thers also a 10mm under the scuttle to the bulk head, and then its unplugging and jiggling til it comes out, then throw it on the floor and dance on it to celebrate your victory over the inferior machine

Thanks Julian - I will have ago. The local Bongo specialist wants an hour and a quarter to do the job.321Away wrote:Its not a bad job, you need to remove wipers (12mm) plastic panelling (philips), retaining nuts (3x10mm,usually rusty n orrid, careful not to drop the retaining bolt/stud things), thers also a 10mm under the scuttle to the bulk head, and then its unplugging and jiggling til it comes out, then throw it on the floor and dance on it to celebrate your victory over the inferior machine![]()

My wipers have about three inches of play and it feels like its all due to the pivot on the end of the wiper motor rotating arm. Wondering if it's possible to do anything to reduce the play????
Re: Replacing Front Windscreen Wiper Motor
Really struggling with mine
10mm nuts are well rusted to bolts. I have sprayed with GT85 but can't work out how to stop the bolts turning while I undo the nuts. There appears to be a rubber bush holding the bolt on the metal assembly the wiper motor etc is fixed to but the bolt just twists when I try to unscrew the nut. How do I lock the bolts while I undo the nuts???

Just as a precaution to stave off wiper motor failure, if you regularly use rainbX then once your over 40mph you'll hardly need your wipers even in torrential rain
