Remote control frequency new shape V6

Post by Bainsy » Wed Apr 11, 2012 5:34 pm

Does anyone know the transmission frequency used on the Bongo remote control fob? I need a replacement but the new one will only work on 433.92 Mgh.

I can't be 100% certain but I think its unlikely that the Japanese used 433.92MHz on there remotes 10 years ago. It certainly wasn't allocated to Low Power in Japan in 1999 see here http://www.kbs.co.kr/techcenter/pdf/Jap ... cation.pdf

Also if you possibly can AVOID using 433.92MHz or similar remotes in the 433MHz range - the idiots who allocated the low power devices on that band ignored the warnings that the low power devices would suffer interference if allocated in a band that was allocated to the MOD for Aeronautical use, Amateur Radio and close to the TETRA emergency (Police/Fire) systems ! A google for "433.92MHz interference" will give you plenty of concern....

Yep - seem to think my old ford explorer was on that frequency , it was a nightmare near police stations ! stranded more than once as the immobilser kicked in and so car couldn't be started til alarm was disarmed and that couldn't be done cus of the frequency clash. An rac guy i called out for a seperate incident in skegness told me he had dozens of call outs to cars parked by the pleasure beach and he had to tow them a mile up the road each time to get out of range of the police station which is close to the seafront.

Geoff's right - avoid !

There was another UHF allocation around 417 MHz. Some remote controlled gates are on there as well.

A Honda I had was on 49MHz along with the baby alarms, toy cars and cordless doorbells.

Nothing but trouble. I disabled it and used the key from day one.

I dread the inevitability of having a car that only comes with remote locking.
