hi everyone, trying to get the bongo ready for the up and coming mot and so oh had a look at the fog lights today as none of them work and we cant work them out. apparently theres just loads of wires and he thinks its something to do with an alarm that was fitted that we had turned off due to some problem or other. anyway so im wondering if anyone can recommend somewhere i can take it for someone to have a look at.
any help appreciated :) :)

Have you turned your side lights on? Fogs sometimes don't work until you have.

Have you looked at the little black connection blocks? My fog lights didn't work when I picked her up, when I unplugged the black connectors I found a lot of blue dust! ie .the copper connectors had disintegrated. I stripped the wires back and put in new connections and I have seen the light! 5 mins work, job done!

thanks, i think the problem is there is too many wires and an alarm has been fitted in the past and then disconnected because it kept locking us out of the car
....and we're not techie minded so dont know where to start :?: :|

with that in mind, is there anyone local who knows this stuff that would have a go at fixing it for a price? [-o< [-o< [-o<
thanks :)

Hi,
if you are also talking about the front fogs, they are not part of the MOT.You only need the rear fog lamp/s working for the MOT.

Cheers.

hi, thanks, neither the front or back ones work. would the wires for the back ones be at the front as well though?

No - it should be through a separate switch.

relay under the bonnet against passenger inner wing, usually the further most forward. are you sure your switch is plugged in behind the dash?

Does the tell-tale light on the switch come on when you turn it on? That will at least indicate you have power at that end. Have you tried changing the bulb in the rear light (assuming you have a seperate foglight mounted in / under the bumper).

If you're stuck, try DBO or Wheelquick.

hi, thats a good point actually. since my husband fiddled with it yesterday, there is now a red light showing fogs on the dash. before that there was nothing so maybe we should try a new bulb?

OK, back to the fogs... Were the dash lights & "tail lights" working during this anomaly...? :-k
