Hold Light Flashing (17 flashes with 1 second intervals)

Symptoms are: Hold Light starts to flash after about 20 minutes driving. Then 17 flashes with about 5 minutes between each set of 17. Interval between flashes approx 1 second. There have been other shorter sets of flashes on occasions. Hard to be too precise as I have been driving each time.
Apart from this , Bongo seems to be driving as normal. No funny business noted with speedo or gear change. Any ideas?
