Only had my Bongo for a week and realise I need to check ATF level under drivers seat. Is this the same process as lifting passenger seat? Thanks for any advice.

If you have a rear side conversion you may not be able to tilt the seat back...if that's the case just remove the seat...4 x bolts...5 min job.

Tks for all the helpful replies. I do have a side conversion so will have to see if seat tilts back or has to be removed.

Hi there,

I had a V6 with side conversion. Found that you could tip the seat back enough to check the level, I used a small offcut of wood as a prop to ensure the seat didn't fall down on my head !! Simple and easy. Anything more like changing plugs/air filter I'd just remove the bolts and take the seat out. Just be careful not to scratch the paint with the metal runners.

When you check the ATF have the car on a flat surface and check it when the engine is warm with the engine running.

If you don't know the history it's worth getting all the fluids changed then going from there, quite a cheap job compared to replacing the box.
