Post by davidneeves » Tue Feb 28, 2012 1:17 pm

hi i have a v6 bongo and i think the air flow meter may be faulty.is there any way of testing it before i go out and buy a new one because knowing my luck it could be something else that is causing the problem thanks Dave

Probably 'cos it's not a jet engine :)

Does it rev freely when in neutral? Other thing to consider is tweaking the TPS as this can influence the point where the gears change.

Hi davidneeves,

It might be worthwhile changing the Fuel Filter and the Air Filter.

Cheers...

Dave, an update on a V6 that wouldnt rev past 3000 (less when warm) turned out to be a crank pick up sensor failing/failure, even tho the onboard diagnostic didnt actually see it?

That's interesting Julian. The diagnostics usually pick it up.
I had another V6 in recently that wouldn't rev above 3000. That was just faulty valve timing.

Reading all of the above reaffirms exactly how little I know about my little motor......
