Hi guys and gals...
A recent problem has arose with turning the Bongo any way and the power steering trying to pull the opposite way,or like an hestiation to aid turning...
There is No leaks as i can see and nothing i can hear different when turning...
Any ideas on this..thaks in advance..Gav...

There have been a couple of instances I know of (twice it's happened to me)...chiefster1976 wrote:Hi guys and gals...

When pulling away hard and approaching somewhere near full lock (for me it was pulling out into traffic from a T junction onto the other side of the road), the power steering faulters and it's really heavy for a second.
There has been talk of a pressure release value on power steering used to prevent against too high pressure, but I don't know if this is the case on the Bongo. Alternatively, it might be a slipping belt to the PS pump.
Don't know if this lines up with your symptoms, but thought I'd mention it. A little searching on here might bring up similar?
Hope this helps,
Matt.

Hi chiefster1976,
What vehicle do you have? If it is a Diesel it wont have a belt.Check and lubricate the universal joints on the steering shaft between the steering wheel and the rack, also check the overall steering components for tightness.Other than that get a pressure test done on the PS system.
Cheers.
