Middle seats

Post by Bongo Bonkers » Thu Feb 02, 2012 10:20 pm

When i bought the Bongo back in october last year the middle row seats were rear facing as i have a rear conversion fitted. My 2 lads didn't like the idea of travelling backwards as they said it makes them feel unwell,so i changed the seat around so it is forward facing. What the problem is that the row of seats will not slide on floor mounted rail,is this due to having to swap the rail over aswell to marry up with the seat components or has this gone U/S on me?

The runners that slide in the rails are asymmetric - you have to lift the seat off, remove a pin from the end of the rails (I took the rails off to do this), slide the runners out and swap them over. There are instructions on here for how to modify the runners (requires a spare pair of runners) to work either way round.

This search should get you some way there...

Alternatively, you can swap lift the seat off again, and poke a screwdriver through the hole to un-latch the release mechanism and position the runners to where you need them, then re-fit the seat. It still won't move, but it will be in the right place. Pity Mazda didn't forsee this issue and make them work with the seat either way around.

Yes, the tracks much match the seat but I think your issue will be how you remove the seat tracks if they disappear under the rear conversion.....is that what what your asking?
