Post by dublin26 » Wed Dec 21, 2011 6:21 pm

Hi, need some advise is it okay to drive my van, 2.5 diesel .... I have been told that it needs a new Air Con Belt as the one on it is frayed and is making the noise l can hear under the engine . It looks as if l will not be able to source one until after Xmas and l just wanted some advise if l can continue driving even if the belt breaks?.

Hi,
It should be OK,I would personaly remove the frayed belt before it can do any damage.

Cheers.

I would imagine that if the belt breaks then it might cause problems with the water pump & alternator belt see
