Hi, my bongo is using a small amount of water (about half a pint every 5 hundred kilometres or so) i have had it looked at twice but am told no cause can be found. at present i am topping up with water, but noticed under bonnet a sign about not adding water because of aluminum engine. its a bit beyond me could someone please explain.. am i doing something that is going to cause problems and why may my bongo be using water?
temperature guage is always steady and van runs fine.
thanks in anticipation
adding coolant

Go to a motor factor and buy some 5 star ethanol coolant marked as being suitable for aluminium engines. For the first few top-ups, put it in neat (as you've previously been using just water). Then dilute with water as per manufacturers instructions thereafter (try not to use 'hard' tap water due to limescale).
