V6 fanbelt

On the V6 fact sheet it says the fanbelt should be changed every 12,000 Km. Surely that can't be right....can it?

Hi,

I would think it should be more like 50,000 miles.

Best to check the belts when servicing the vehicle,if the belts are cracked / frayed or grooved ...Change..

Cheers

Yes, it does seem like common sense. Perhaps a zero was missed out and it should be 120,000Km

Always better to change a belt when it suits you rather than wait until it snaps on a dark wet night in the middle of nowhere. Worth doing alternator and aircon belts at same time. I had mine changed as they had to come off to have the cam belt done. They were very badly cracked and would probably failed sooner or later. I've kept them as spares just to get me out of trouble if one does snap.
