MOT runs out next week..........

So I went in yesterday, and got it done early (just in case) and it passed!

Another year ahead then :D

One advisory - very slight play in the n/s track rod end.

More importantly, since I went to a garage where I know the owner, I got that invaluable look around underneath on a proper ramp.

So, I now know that one of the transmission cooler hoses I disturbed doing the ATF change is weeping and needs a new clip, and - more worryingly - I have a very slight coolant weep from the n/s end of the rad where the bottom hose connects. Looks like I will be learning how to bleed a Bongo fairly soon! Not sure yet until I get a good look at the rad if it's just the hose clip or the rad itself.

sounds a strange position for a leak on the coolant system dave, they dont usually leak on the coolest, least used hose.
check its not leaking above and tracking around.

Went in and had a look. It's certainly a minor weep rather than a leak as such. So, all cleaned off and I'll check it again after a run and see what's what. It might even be spilled screenwash

Whilst I was down there, I dropped off the intercooler shroud for a better look, which means dropping the intercooler since there's a scrivet top centre holding them together. The bottom 3 rows were well impacted with grit and unfortunate insects. Cleaning that lot out and un-folding the vanes led to some sections coming away, but no harm done. Also flushed the cooler body out, got a wee bit of oily stuff but not much at all.

my mrs bongo has had a niggly little leak since last winters low temps, ive ripped the entire front off it twice now, finally found it. it was a tiny leak from one of the screen wash bottle motors, the frost had loosened the bottom seal round the bottom edge of the motor, it looks like a permenant push fit seal to the motor body, compared with the other one it had a very slightly larger gap.a nice dollop of 2 part epoxy and it was sorted.
maybe worth a look.

the picture looks ok to me, there isnt much that can go wrong with the plastic stub, as there is no reaction under the hose/clip like there could be under a metal stub.
