Trim below headlight thoughts
Hi all,
I'm thinking of fitting Dayrunning lights. I want to mod the trim panel below the Headlights. I have the 2001 (late) model (with HiD headlights)
I've not been brave enough to try and remove these yet...... can some advise how this comes off before I go at it clumsly and break something.
I might just make up new panels to go under the headlight to replace the existing one if they mount easily.....
Any thoughts
Terry

Then the second link in my last post is probably for you... (Even though its from an "inbetweener") The post 99 model illustration is virtually identical, apart from an extra grill design?!
Good luck!

grill and headlights are held in place in the same points, the hid transformer is fixed underneath the headlight and has an extra plug, so remember when re-assembling it!

I think i'd be more inclined to fit the stick on LED strips to the panels under the headlights rather than chopping them about...
Plus, you can simply peel them back off again if you don't like the finished result.

Take look at this topic

This was the way I went with my DRL's, they run with the ignition then dim when the side/head lights are turned on

Yeah, That's exactly what I wanted to do.... I looked at the spacing on my bumper either side of the No plate and they won't quite fit. Your DRL's look like the one's available from Halfords. There quite wide. Hence I was thinking of fitting them in that panel below the headlights.
BDCain... I would really like to make up Glass or Carbon panels so as not to damage rare goods, but as yet don't have the skills. Might be my first try.........
I'll take another look later today
Thanks for your comments......
