GOOD BONGO LOCATIONS???

Post by cardiff996 » Tue Jun 07, 2011 1:41 pm

Hi All,

Took the van down to Ogmore for the first time last weekend.
Great stuff!! Roof up, kids playing. All sat in the van having our lunch and brewed a fresh cuppa tea on the stove. It dont get much better in my opion (Appart from car park fees £4.00 1+ hrs, just paid £1 for an 1hr and kept an eye out for any wardens)

Does any of the Welsh gang have recomended sites such as Ogmore. Along the line of being able to park up open the doors and everything is on your doorstep so to speak. Sea, lake, river whatever.... its perfect for the kids.

I am looking to take a trip down to the river Wye. My fishing club has acess to the bank via forestry comision roads so this is the next trip for us.

Cheers all

Thanks Pisceanjoy, will add this to my camping list to try out.
It does look a good site.

Also interested to hear on peoples day trip locations.

Kenfig nature reserve, they are going to get a cafe soon (they hope) but nice pubs close by, great walk across the dunes to the very big open and marvellously empty beach, we go virtually every Monday with the dogs.

CWMCARN - Cross keys way.

Forest drive on a forestry comision site. www.cwmcarnforest.co.uk

Lots of stop of points, if you dont want to be in the larger car park sites there are plenty of little laybys and parking spots along the road. Great country side and space.
Kids enjoyed the adventrue play ground but this can get busy.
