Re: Charity LCA (Low Coolant Alarm) fitting
Will do, had been thining about ordering one but not got round to it yet. Thne hose split at the weekend, luckily on drive not whilst driving, however has now made my mind up to get this done sooner rather than later. Ordered new hose to arrive from Fury shop tomorrwo and mechanic fitting on monday. So all being well i shall se you there.
A cheeky question if i may, should i pass on any bleeding tipps to the mechaniconce the new hose is fitted?

Defo ...make sure he knows how to do a BONGO.....if he hasn't done one before download the factsheet and watch the utube Vid's "bleeding Bongos" if he does not do it correct we may not be seeing you at the bash......and how are you getting it to the garage.....don't drive it.
Re: Charity LCA (Low Coolant Alarm) fitting
Cheers for reply, i'll print off factsheet as you say to take in..he has been named on the forum as being used previously and fuuny enough has been my mechanic on various motors over last 12 years or so...so hopefully ok.
RAC have done temp repair on hose so i can get it to garage.

Re: Charity LCA (Low Coolant Alarm) fitting
They may have repaired the hose but did they bleed the system when they refilled it ???? if NOT....do not drive it......result could be a bill for £2000.....I'm not trying to scaremonger....it's just the way it is.....
Did you drive it home after they repaired the hose ????was the tank under the bonnet empty at any point ??? Did the temp gauge move to HOT ?? even If the tank did not go empty air could have entered the system via the burst hose..
BE VERY CAREFUL

Re: Charity LCA (Low Coolant Alarm) fitting
Car was on drive which was fortunate, but yes they did bleed the system amd the guy was telling me about importance of removing all the air. Then ran the engine for a good while until warmed up to ensure bottom hose was getting warm and coolant was circulating, so hopefully done a reasonable job. Temp gauge reached the classic 10 to 1 through this exercise and didn't get higher than that.
