Stuck sliding door

Post by JonWM » Sat Apr 09, 2011 11:25 am

Hi - is it possible to release a shut sliding door?

if it helps - battery was flat and and jumped it. Open sliding door OK, switrched off engine (only after a minute or so of running so no real charge put baqck in the battery). Shut door - noticed no electrical assistance noise and now won't open - tried everything besides forcing

They always do that after a flat battery

Needs a really good THWUMP about a third of the way up on the INSIDE with the palm of your had. It should then whirr and click away

Good luck

Hi and thanks but tried this and to no avail. Whereabouts specifically on the inside do i need to assault?

If this doesn't work is there another way - applying external powere supply source to somewhere?

From the inside, about a third of the way up the door panel in the middle.

Just keep on thwumping as hard as you can until it starts working.

The alternative is to take the panel off and poke about but I'm not sure what you need to poke at.

I know that there are other solutions to this so hopefully someone else can help. I've done mine and one other bongo this way though.

Mucho thankos.

Got the van started again and thumping where you said seemed to do the trick.
