oil warning light

Post by ianjohnstone1971 » Tue Apr 05, 2011 10:27 am

hi - my oil warning light has started flickering the other day,i checked the oil level and it was a little low so i topped up oil level.the warning light is still flickering though yet the oil level is no longer low ( i have slightly over topped up the level - about 1cm over fill line on dipstick).is there a possibility the switch is faulty or could there be a more-serious fault.(any help on this would be greatly appreciated!!!) :P

Welcome to the madhouse :D
See this thread http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... =3&t=29471 - local help is often available, or we may be able to recommend a reliable garage 8)
The warning light also warns of low oil pressure, so I would consider changing the oil pressure switch first. Worst case scenario is worn bearings or oil pump.

Hi ianjohnstone1971,

Your problem could be a faulty switch/bad connection.Personally I would get a garage to check the oil pressure to be on the safe side.

Cheers..
