Replacing Mosquito net

Post by JulieNMax » Mon Mar 14, 2011 11:32 pm

We are looking for our first Bongo and have seen a good one without a mosi net. Can these bought and be replaced? Couldn't see this question anywhere else so forgive me if this is well known.. Naive first timers!!!

Cheers, Julie

They can be replaced but it is an awkward job to do. Quite a few people have been after them in the past but I am not sure if most of them ever found one. Never heard of anyone getting a new one, you would have to look for one in resonable condition being sold by someone breaking a Bongo.

Hi, and a very warm welcome to the Forum.

I've not heard of one being replaced, but that doesn't mean it can't be done. Do you really need it? Bugs aren't too bad south of the border, so possibly just don't worry about it.
Take a torch, toilet roll, and tea bags.

it can be done, 321away had some replaced by a firm next door that specialised in making bouncy castles, its a nitemare job tho as the whole thing has to be removed from the vehilce and even from the aluminium strips that from the frame so it can go into a sewing machine, wheter or not its less work/cheaper to just pick up another reeof tent with it intact, i cant say, if you want i'll find out the price they were paying to give you an idea.

if you cant do the job yourself or cant find anyone to do it, why dont you use a flame thrower, it will keep you nice and warm aswell as getting rid of those annoying mozzies !
