Oooooohhhhhhh - Reindeer - I think IKEA do them as well. I do have some buffalo lined up for the next instalment - plus something very much better than reindeer for Christmas Eve.....

Re: Bored with butties suggestion?
Morrisons have been doing venison grillsteaks for some time which are particularly good on the barbie, even if some people do have to spoil a good meal by adding salad to it
Re: Bored with butties suggestion?
Shouldn't that be good on the Bambie

This is from the article:-
Justin Kerswell of protest group Viva! said: "What they term luxury belies the truth. Up to 70 per cent of reindeer for meat are calves."
I suppose they think beef, lamb, chicken etc has all come from old animals - plonkers

It tickles me the way the claim it is "destroying the magic of Christmas"........ There were no Reindeer in Bethlehem.....francophile1947 wrote:This is from the article:-

Re: Bored with butties suggestion?
ahhh but were there reindeer in Bethlehem ???
quoted from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christmas
According to popular tradition, the birth took place in a stable, surrounded by farm animals, though neither the stable nor the animals are specifically mentioned in the Biblical accounts.
so it may well have been reindeer knocking about
If not perhaps this could be more traditional http://www.menu.it/eng/scheda_prodotto. ... odotto=109 and right up Muz's street
I couldn't find the recipe for the other bit of a donkey but found this http://www.nowmagazine.co.uk/celebrity- ... sticles/1/
I'm off to hang my head in shame I love Christmas

It is a very good meat, and you really have to try it before saying anything. Makes excellent low fat bolognese, as you only use a smaller amount as it is quite rich
