Bongo Fury

Hi all, Our problem started two weekends ago. We went away to Poole and got in the Bongo to have a day out. The low water sensor wouldn't stop beeping. Checked water with my trusty lolly pop stick found we'd lost some water but still some left. Used van all day no problem Sunday morning no problem. Went to new forest in van when the alarm started when the ignition was turned on again. I was not sure what to do so topped up water put faith in alarm and digital temperature gauge and came home no problem. I'm sure if we had not had our system I would have cooked the engine. This system has saved Billy bongo twice now so good value. To end the tale today a new full set of hoses which I ordered from our Bongo shop which came within 48 hours have now been fitted and new anti freeze added so hopefuly care free motoring for the forseable future. So thanks for selling and fitting such a good system. Would highly recommend Haydns' Mazda Bongo coolant loss alarm to all Bongo users!

Hope the garage that did the hoses did the bleeding correct.

Lovely Jubbely, I hope thats sorted it for you,
but do keep an eye on things and if you lose any more water
check out the water pump

Did you establish that the leak was from a hose?

The water pump has already been suggested but check the joint around the top of the radiator as well.

Not too bad to cope with if the leak is high up. The worst case situation I could imagine is the metal pipe corroding where it goes up into the rear heater. Instant emptying and a s#d to do a roadside repair.
