Glowplug question,,

Glowplug question,,
Hi guys ive been busy tonight changing my old glowplugs for NGK jobbies, all gone ok but heres the deal. tightended up new glow plugs gently until they got tightish then just pinched them up gently until they stopped so that went ok, just a thought crossed my mind wouuld these glowplugs leak around the thread so sprayed all four with WD40 and sure enough they had very slight bubbles coming out around the thread, is this normal???? am i loosing any compresion??

Seriously though - if the motor is hot, or even warm, that could be boiling it rather than bubbling . . .

so it was cold!

Conjecture, Barrington but I would imagine that if gasses were escaping, you'd hear it before you could see it.
There must be another answer to this but dunno what it might be.

Could it be Gasses as i think? and that the Glowplugs expand during heating up thus sealing? maybe i should try the same thing once hot?

Dunno - but I would be tempted to tweak down the plugs a bit BUT, I'm a total muppet with a spanner & may well strip a thread, causing ghastly horridness. Suggest you don't go down that line unless you are confident & know torque settings etc. . . . .
