oil change or not?

Post by KMJGSS » Sat Jul 17, 2010 11:10 am

Hi All,
Amongst the advice on running costs for a Bongo on the 'Buying a Bongo' part of the site we're told we need to do an oil change at 3000 miles and a filter change at 6000, which I've duly done since buying my lovely Freda.
Dumb question I'm sure - but what happens if I don't? I'm not planning on giving up on oil changes altogether (!) but I'm about to make a substantial trip abroad
(probably 1500 miles worth of driving) and I'm not due a routine change for another 1000 miles.
Can I wait till I get back or will something terrible happen (fire and brimstone? plague of frogs?) if I run the van beyond its scheduled change? See - told you it was a dumb question. Smart answers welcome!

thanks KMJGSS

Read this recent thread on the same issue, it should help - http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... 00#p430009
You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.
