Im having a problem with my van-after long journeys its stalling at junctions when I stop. Ive had a new fuel filter and banjo filter checked and ive had the fuel pump tested and the problem still continues. Its come to the stage that im afraid to drive long journeys as when it stalls its very hard to re-start. Any suggestions what this might be?

When it happens try opening the fuel filler, some peeps have found that the valve is blocked in the filler cap, which causes a vacuum in the tank, and thus fuel starvation. You will hear a hiss as air enters the tank.
Good luck!

Aparently there is a breather hole in the fuel cap and if its blocked can cause this
try if it happend loosen the fuel cap releasing the vacume and see if it starts better if so try another cap
Or i could be completely wrong
beat me to it but same answer

Hi there, I had the same problem with mine which slowly got worse over time,I'd had it checked twice by ian taylor but as it was a random problem he didn't find it
.One day he had it in for a service and he took it home and it happened to him (lucky me), it turned out to be the fuel pump seal which only expanded enough to allow air in when hot, giving fuel starvation. Seal replaced and never happend since

Update-
Tried the fuel cap filler-it worked . Drove for miles then I stoped at a shop to buy water. Had great dificulty restarting the engine and when back on the road the revs would drop down low- didnt stall but tried to. I will now try and change the fuel pump seal and see if this will help

Hi!
I had similar problem on my 95 Bongo ( 4WD) used to be hard to start having stopped for a short while after a long drive.
Turned out to be the wavey fuel pipe between the injectors, it had a pinhole leak that allowed air in and fuel to drain away back down the pipe. WL0113G90B 136702 PIPE,FUEL LEAK on the lushprojects website. http://www.lushprojects.com/bongoparts
This item was priced a £55+ VAT from a mazda dealer, but only £15 from a ford dealer ???
I hope this may be of help.
