please sponser our cause
Hi all, those of you that know me will know im big into kiting.
Well this year im entering a 24 hr kite enduro race and our team needs to raise at least £100 for a charity. I went last year to it but helped out as a marshall but this year i really want to actually take part.
Details from kitecrowd
Ok Finally sorted out details for this next year
Note we have decided in these tough economic times to try and keep costs to a minimum so if you enter early enough the price is the same as last year even though we know we have additonal costs this year.
When 5th,6th June 2010 (you will need to be there to register by 9am on 5th although will be able to use bank from 12am on 4th for practice)
Where Hoylake (Where else )
Entry Costs
Teams to consist of 3 to 5 members (Note to go for the official FISLY record a team can only consist of 3 members)
Cost to enter
3 man team £54 (£48 if enter before 5th February 2010)
4 man team £60 (£54 if enter before 5th February 2010)
5 man team £66 (£60 if enter before 5th February 2010)
The Latest entry will be accepted is 24th May 2010)
Note numbers are limited so early entry is encouraged as once have maximum number of teams entry will close
In addition each team will need to provide another £100 which will either be
a) Returned upon proof that £100 or more has been raised for that team’s charity of choice.
The deadline for proof of charitable contributions is 1st December 2010.
b) Donated equally to the RNLI and the North West Air Ambulance
This should be provided as
1) a cheque payable to WSYC by Monday May 24th 2010
2) handed over as cash on the day of event.
3) Demonstated as already achieved on a suitable web site like justgiving.com
I will need to consult with my other team members but we would like to offer the funds to the air ambulance services.
so come on guys and gals, i know times are hard but even a fiver would help a worthy cause.

Re: please sponser our cause
Sounds like a good cause.
I'm particularly fond of the North West Air Ambulance...chief pilot, Niel Airey is a mate and they recently saved the life of a close friend following a car smash which resulted in all road access being blocked for miles around.
Let us know when you've set up the 'just giving' site.

Put me down for £5. Let me know how you want it.
3 people in a team for 24hrs. Each buggying for an average of 8 hrs.
I can tell you that is no mean feat.
I once buggies 85 miles in one day and I was so knackered that I could hardly get myself and my kit off the beach.
I am guessing these guys are aiming to do 250 miles each in that 8 hours.
Good luck Mike.
A really good cause too. I know of at least 3 of our fellow buggiers who have been rescued by the air ambulance in the last year, not least of which, if it hadn't been for the air ambulance at Camber Sands, was looking at amputation of his foot there an then on the beach.

Re: please sponser our cause
thanks guys so far. will set up site prob this weekend.
tony if i can do 200 miles in 8 hours in my little buggy and only ended up with blisters down my side where the harness was rubbing its easy.
it was so much fun last year and the night flying was an experience. it was a shame that my insurance wasnt accepted last year, just done the written test for the pka pilots licence so got to do the practical one before i can go for it.
ady and chell you can pop over and stay the night in the tent on the beach, a pit crew helps with any problems and keeping track of the gps units and paperwork, and keeping the team going morally and filling them up with caffiene and burgers. thats what i did last year.

Re: please sponser our cause
The idea is that you donate on the just giving site then we can prove to the meeting organisers that we have raised the money and then the nominated charity will take the donation direct from you.
just click on the donate now button and fill in your details. Also doing it this way ensures that only the charity gets the money.
