Well we’re back from another fantastic weekend, Debbie really should seek employment with the North Wales Tourist Board
This almost certainly was the smallest Bongo meet in the short history of Bongo meets, with only two Bongos for a while until we stumbled across a third – Imagine my surprise whilst walking around the site to be passed by a
kübelwagen only to have the driver, in full American uniform, shout “Oi, Muz!”, stop the car and have a natter for a few minutes!
We arrived on Friday evening after a fun journey on the M56 and A55, presumably some folks do this journey every week
That brazier was great for warming up the cool evening
http://www.bored.com

Time to waft the brazier back into life

Awwwwww

We are NOT amused

Saturday morning and time to put that brazier to good use again

The campsite is huge and in a great setting, with lovely views over the river Conwy

Lots of military trucks on display....

....”three double cheeseburgers, a 12” pepperoni pizza and two extra large donner kebabs”
Most of the owners were happy to show people their pride & joy

Authentic ex-WD Fiamma levelling blocks
Even the bike exhibits were available to small kids and big kids alike
Then onto the vehicle displays....

Getting around the huge site was easy, just grab a ride on an army truck!

....which was fine for threequarters of Team Muz
Then onto the battle re-enactment, where we met up again with herr Bongoist
kübelwagen driver....

....The Hun

The Germans

The Americans

Let battle commence

As in all the war films, the Americans won

Alvis Stalwart, coolest off-roader of them all. Well, maybe a close second behind the Hägglunds BV206

Time to retire to camp....

....and incinerate some more food
Thanks again to Debbie for organizing, a top weekend enjoyed by all
