I have been a good boy
Well i sorted out the wiring in the tailgate then set about fitting my Liesure battery.
I will say the Willington kit couldn't have been easier to fit. Only problem was the spanner fitting it. I managed to fit the LB back to front. Wired it all up then tested the voltage. It was 7.5 before i started(battery been sitting doing nothing for a year). When i tested it i got ZIP, NADA. Then i realised what i had done. I quickly swapped it round and hey presto bobs your aunties live in lover.
Hope i have not done any damage to anything, it was in there for about 2 mins.
Just gotta wire my LCA and TM2 into the lives i have created and away we go.
A couple of questions now,
Is my Glow plug light on the dash supposed to be slow flashing?
What is the best crimped end to use for puttig my LCA and TM2 into the fusebox lives? ("U" shaped ones or spade cut down)
Yeehaaa another 2 jobs off the list!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cut down spades make a better fit if you can't get hold of the proper job ones.
No it's not supposed to be doing a slow flash, was it doing it before you tried to melt your wiring?

Tony, if you have wired up the willinton kit, it will flash untill you fit the leisure battery, if I disconect my leisure battery, mine starts to flash as you describe untill I put the leisure battery back on, its something to do with one of the fuses thats on the same circuit that youve just transfered to the leisure battery ie the blind or the leccy mirrors ect, cant remember which one it is thoe so if its not wired upto the leisure battery it will flash.
If your leisure battery is conected then check that youve pushed the little blade fuse in properly into the fuse box, and check that the fuses are in properly and they are working ok in the willington kit
Ifs not any of the above take out the push in extension bits that come from the fuse box to the willinton kit 1 by 1 and put the corrrect fuse back in to see if it stops flashing

Fuse 1 in the fuse box by your knee isn't it? try putting thr original fuse back in there & see if it stops?

Will do all that tomorrow. Thanks. Off to work now. Would it be because the LB is discharged or got knackered by the reversal? Will check all fuses and connections tomorrow

Probably, as I said easy enough to check, just pull out the connection on fuse 1 (top left) & replace the fuse that was in there (10 amp)thedogsbollox wrote:Will do all that tomorrow. Thanks. Yup Fuse 1 as Kirsty says feeds the ECU and TCM with power when the Ignition is OFF, having a flat L/B and/or reversal will no doubt set the "Problem" lights flashing.

I replaced the fuse and removed the LB for charging. All went ok. Replaced the LB and the wire and it seems ok. Question is now if i have knackered the LB. When i charge batteries the meter on the charger starts high and goes to zero when done. When i done this one the meter started about 3 out of 5 and after overnight charging the meter was at 4. It has held 12.7V all day long and is in the Bongo now, all LB periferals working ok.
I replaced the fuse and removed the LB for charging. All went ok. Replaced the LB and the wire and it seems ok. Question is now if i have knackered the LB. When i charge batteries the meter on the charger starts high and goes to zero when done. When i done this one the meter started about 3 out of 5 and after overnight charging the meter was at 4. It has held 12.7V all day long and is in the Bongo now, all LB periferals working ok.

I would recommend you DO NOT wire your LCA/TM-2 into your LB live feeds........The LCA is voltage sensitive and if you LB voltage ever drops your alarm will start playing up.

I am gonna wire the LCA, TM2 and Cruise control into the now redundant top parts of fuses 6,7 and 8 with a 3mm crimped spade end on a unline miniblade fuse. While you are there, what fuse rating would you recommend? They were only 70p for 4 so i got
4x3amp
4x5amp
4x7.5amp
4x10amp

That could be down to the charger you used Tony... L/B's have different characteristics over standard batteries, perhaps the circuitry in your charger was playing it safe by only giving a partial charge? I'd leave the split charger fair opportunity to top the battery up, and take it from there mate,fingers crossed it's held up ok for ya!thedogsbollox wrote:Thanks Kirsty.
