Help - Electric Window Problems

Post by pongobongo » Fri Feb 05, 2010 7:46 am

Morning!

Just noticed that my front electric Windows have stopped working...

Checked the rocker switch in both directions - whilst depressing each switch... nowt.

Passenger side - no movement at all. Drivers side - no movement - but a buzzing (electrical sound) coming from the switch!

Hmmm. Any ideas?

The black wire in the loom bundle from the door to the body has broke or frayed.. I'm pretty sure of it!
I sorted mine out like this..

The V in the loom causes more problems than they solve by bending & breaking the wires..
Check the bottom of the V & where the loom goes into the body grommet, under the rubber sleeve...

The buzzing sounds like the earth wire. (i think black?) If you were to juggle this loom while the doors open & work the window switch, you may get intermittent movement of the windows..?

Been there sorted it 2 years ago, panic ye not.. It should be a cheap though fiddly fix!!

Hope this helps..! :D

Mo bumph here on the subject! http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... dow+switch
