Continental headlights

I am moving back to Germany next year with my job and am now heading back with a bongo, i've managed to get headlights that fit and will be suitable for using in Europe. However they aren't flush like original bongo lights and is always a make do job as they were never made for driving on the other side of the road.

Don't know if this can work or would be legal.

I was thinking could I get a spare set of bongo lights. Then remove the original facing and replace with similar sized front casing from european side lights. If it's all sealed properly it would not allow water in and would be facing on the ride side of the road.

Any thoughts on this or pointers on legality would be very much appreciated.

Havea search on here, some LHD Seat headlights are compatible.

Yes I got a set. I was wondering if it was possible to make a set that would fit properly.

You could always go for some bmw lights if you're prepared to put a bit more work in do a search on "bmw and lights", it's been discussed several times on here.

I have found that the lights off an old Opel Astra around 1995 are almost identical, except the lower inner corner is about 1/2 inch longer...slight modification to grill only.

They have LHD Bongo's in the Philipinnes....... I would think the Headlamps would need to be to LHD regs.....
I am trying to see if some custom parts are cheaper there than from some scallywags on the evilbay in the UK, will ask any contacts to investigate

That's a useful link, Mike, but it isn't true for Bulgaria...most of it is not fully correct...I especially like the bit on vehicles...and driving licences....The Bulgarian driving licence costs 250 euros on average...no test needed
Oh boy, it's one of those places where they sign up for every EU directive, and once signed, ignore the lot ...it has to be experienced

Would be interested to know if you find any more info about bringing a Bongo into Germany, is it a permanent move or will the vehicle maintain its UK reg.

Been resident in Germany 2 years and as a permanent resident, any car I have needs a German Reg, cars like Bongo's require a Certificate of Conformance to allow pass at TÜV, to allow reigstration to occur. Have a Hyundai H1 2009 (CoC for a Hyundai Grand Starex was required to complete registration).

Does anyone know where a CoC could be obtained/enquired about? Would be great to have an AFT in Europe.
