Overheating problem solved

Post by lightmove » Wed Jan 13, 2010 8:21 pm

Hi, just thought I'd let you know about our overheating problem and the solution incase it's of any use to others.

The usual overheating scenario the temp gauge would rocket up to the H even in the freezing weather, no heat from the heaters, we were having to stop and top up coolant quiet often.

Took it to Adrian in Bury who found one of the pipes coming from the heater matrix had crumbled to powder. He managed to cut it a bit shorter and clip the hose back on. Fingers crossed the rest of the pipe holds up as next stop is a new heater matrix.

Just thought I post this as another potential fix to the many overheating problems and to praise Adrian yet again!

Thats weird. Did it not leak then but just cause a blockage or something? :?

Mike at Wheelquick had a similar problem and that was traced to the front heater matrix blocked.

Probably was leaking but not enough to cause a "in cab" problem.

Wonder if that may explain some of the "impossible to bleed" ones that don't get the heater warm?
You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.

It may help to Kirsty, Nothing they did would bleed the system until they bypassed the front heater, even though the pipework has the rear heater loop.
