Which grade petrol V6?

I've had my Bongo about a month now. I found lots of valuable information on the Bongofury website and forum, which helped me make my choice and ask the right question. I've a silver new shape 1999 V6 with a mid-conversion and a mushroom roof.
Can anyone tell me whether I should be putting normal (95 ron) or super (97 ron) unleaded in it

Hi there and welcome to the madhouse
. Nice looking Bongo (could it be from JAL). I have the same as yourself and use the lower grade with no issue's what so ever
. Average about 26 to 29 mpg on a run going steady and not foot to the floor
.

95 is fine. A burst of Ultimate/V-Power 97 every now & then keeps it in good fettle though.

What does the Ultimate/V Power do to a relatively low compression engine that 95 doesn't?
Waste of money on that engine methinks

Never new that
might have to give it a go Mr M. nearly had a connery last time i put 1/4 tank in by accident it so much more expensive
especially when i only get 21 ish to the gal on av each week

Dunno if its relevant but quite often run VPower diesel in the Bongo & it does run better & seems to get an extra 10% mileage as well . That kinda pays off the extra lay out, unless I'm just kidding myself. Will try & get some stats.

21 ish smiles per gallon sounds good to me........................

it not as scary Mr P
who cares about consumption
consumption is for people that worry about mpg
besides i wont need to worry about petrol as soon as youv'e done my lpg
or transplanted a rocket engine into my van

Forget the Rocket Fuel Cheffy, unless you REALLY don't mind consumption figures.
$630 a gallon is possibly a little on the steep side
