Starting probs again

Post by JonWM » Thu Nov 26, 2009 10:57 pm

Hi again,

From previous thread re the Bongo not starting properly I was advised to change the glow plugs. The problems were that from cold the first attempt nearly started the engine and then every time after that it wouldn't start until eventaully i kicked into life and ran as rough as badgers for a while (loads of white smoke) and then calming down to a normal engine.

I changed the plugs and this was an instant cure :o . The engine started quickly first time every time and ran smoothly from the outset, for a few days. I took it for a run down to Blandford from Swindon and when i tried to start the engine to come home the old fault was back and it is still there tonight :(

What should i check next? The glow plug light shines for the usual couple of seconds and the relay clicks.

Yes thats right we wait about 8-10 seconds after turning ignition. No smoke then and instant fire up.
