Does any one know how I can check whether my leisure battery is receiving a charge when the engine is running without discharging it and seeing if it charges up?
Thanks in advance for any help.
How Can I check if Leisure battery is being charged

Stick a voltmeter across it.
Engine off - 12-13v
Engine running, 14.5v if the split charge system is charging it, or the same as above if it isn't.

Bear in mind that the Split Charge relay may not pull in until the voltage on the main battery reaches above 14volts or more, so check the voltage on the main battery to start with then when that has risen above 14 volts (it may need a few steady rev's before it does) check the leisure battery - some relays also have a LED to indicate when they operate.

What is the easiest way to find the relay ? do I just follow the live terminal cable??

Yes in a nutshell, it will have a connection to both of the +ve terminals of the batteries via fuses located fairly close to each battery.
