Hi tuftyfreer, welcome to the mad mad world of the Bongo. Firstly could you put your location on your avatar, it will help you if we know which part of the country you are in. You don't have to give us your address but a city or county would help. To do this go to the top right of the form and click on user control panel then click profile, scroll down and enter your location. Cheers

It could be two seperate issues but the tacho reads from the gearbox.
If the Hold light is flashing in a particular sequence, chances are its advising of a gearbox problem.
Theres a factsheet in the Members area that lists what means what . . . .

is your speedo chipped?
or could be a loose connection at the rear of the cluster

Good advice from Rob. Unless it's been diagnosed as a speed sensor problem, it's wise to check the basics first.

Is it regularly about 20 minutes before the fault clears? Is it a bit reluctant to start or does it turn over nice & quick & catch instantly? Check your battery voltage before you start & then check your alternator is chucking voltage in ok at somewhere between 13.8v & 14.5v, sounds to me like the battery is a bit low on start up then after 20 minutes it's charged up enough. If so, this would suggest an iffy battery or a drain when it's parked up. Might be completely off the mark, but worth checking?
