Front and Rear fans not switching off with ignition

Post by munroman » Sun Nov 01, 2009 1:14 pm

Hi Peeps, for some reason both my front and rear heater fans are now staying on when the ignition is turned off, I noticed the rear one had started doing this yesterday, but found the same with the front one this morning, after it had been running all night!

All ideas welcome! :D

Have you recently fitted a leisure battery..?
Cheaper by comparison to a race horse...

Which type of control is it, there are at least three separate circuits depending on vehicle type and control ?
Having said that each Fan is controlled by a relay with the power for the Fans contact coming from the 30 Amp "Heater" fuse which is ahead of the ignition switch. So it sounds like the BOTH relays are being held closed after Ignition goes to off, which implies its not the simple option of welded relay contacts as both are continuing to operate. I would guess that something has been done to the electrics recently ?

Sorted, one of the feeds into the fusebox from the leisure battery had come out of its place and ended up touching the heater fuse!

Thanks for the advice! :D
