Needs a new fuel filter or the banjo filter is blocked.

Welcome to the forum
, may be worth your while reading this - http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... =4&t=35550 .
Be worth checking the air filter too, but I suspect Franco or Mike's suggestions may be what you need.

Re: technical
My Bongo used to be quite sluggish, especially on hills on motorways. Eventually the auto box would change down a couple of gears and I'd sit there going just as slowly as before, but making a lot more noise
As posted elsewhere (http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... 0&start=15), I found two sheared exhaust studs and evidence of leaks in the EGR system.
Might be worth checking?

Re: technical
Any chance someone could change the title to something applicable to the query?

Don't want to be too obvious, but have you checked the throttle cable? It connects to the engine under the drivers side seat. It may have gone slack or is damaged.
PS, my throttle has about an inch of movement before it takes up the slack in the cable. Is it possible to tighen the cable?

Re: Diesel - Won't rev passed 2200rpm
Can you not adjust the outer clamp position next to where the cable meets the fuel pump?Is it possible to tighen the cable?
Back off the nuts, and extend the effective outer by moving the cable outer end rearwards...
