noisy rear air con fan how do i get it out

Post by Rick_H » Fri Sep 18, 2009 9:04 pm

Hi all
When i turn my rear fan up full it is very noisy its fine on settings one and two but turn it up to tree and it vibrates like crazy i have removed the side panels to get to the fan and i can see it i just cant work out how to get it out. it looks like you should be able to remove just the fan housing to the right of where i assume the heater matrix is however there seems to be a hidden fixing somewhere because i can't get it out. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas.
Cheers
Rick

All sorted the problem was a piece of cable insulation had got stuck in the fan blades and was throwing the fan out of balance at high speed hence the vibration. I assume the insulation came from when the van was converted.
Maxheadroom I did manage to get the fan assembly out without removing the heater matrix etc, there is one bolt under the carpet one nut on the underside of the van and 2 screws holding the plastic fan assembly to the plastic heater matrix cover, once they are all out it is just a matter of maneuvering it out.
