TM2 Low Coolant alarm shriek terrifying my dog

Post by New Forest Terrier » Fri Sep 04, 2009 6:47 pm

Not sure if this is the right forum, but I am looking for a teccie solution to the problem of the start up shriek on my TM2.
Considered Bongo Chat or Bongo Furry but none really fit.

I have a TM2 Low Coolant alarm which I really appreciate. This is connected to the oil pressure warning warning light and shrieks as soon as the key turns and before the engine starts. It shrieks worse if the key is turned alone. I have had it fitted since last winter without trouble, but this week I aquired a rescue dog who is upset by the start up shriek. Mr M my Jack Russell does not mind at all, but Carol the new Fox Terrier is terrified.

Has anyone found any way to bypass this, with a button to press at start up for instance. Today I got her out of the Bongo and realised that a window was still open. Turned the key to close it. Shriek went off and the dog as well. She slipped her harness, galloped two fields and was fortunately found playing with a farmers labrador.

She now has a much tighter unslippable harness and I am sure will get used to the noise in time. Any remedy would be appreciated though, as it is a pretty horrible racket.

Regards

Mary
