Hi all!
After some advice again.
I noticed the other day while driving that every time i braked i was getting a single clunking noise like two bits of metal hitting each other. It seems to be coming from the front right wheel only, does anyone know what could be that is causing this?
Many thanks
Will

Re: A noise when braking!
Is it just after reversing or sitting at traffic lights etc? probably just the pads moving slightly, worth whipping the wheel off & having a check though.
You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.

No it is litterally every time i have to press on the brakes, not kinda feather them, but pressing them like you are needing to stop for something!

Re: A noise when braking!
Hi,
I had a similar problem. A clunk when breaking for the first time.
Mechanic took the pads out, cleaned everything up and re-seated the pads. Nothing seemed loose, and we couldn't re-create the problem with the wheel off.
All OK again now - worth having a look though.
Since then I have had squeaky breaks when breaking gently. Again, off with the pads, some "stuff" applied to the backs of the pads after the clean-up, and now OK again!

Re: A noise when braking!
That could cure the clunk too, a bit of copperslip works wonders on the backplate of brake pads! There is of course the (slight) possibility that the acual pad face has broken loose from the backplate, and is "floating" on the disc facesteamydave wrote:
